The first term at Soka Minami High Schoolis well on its way and I would like to welcome you to our school’s web site. As the head of the department, I will try to inform you of the many events that we have at our school and by doing so, I hope you will become more interested in our school.

Meanwhile, our students in the FLD begin to study languages other than English during their second year here. They can choose between German, Chinese and French. Recently, Chinese is a popular language but each language has very able teachers who are enthusiastic and excited about teaching their respective languages.
草加南高校では第２外国語として、フランス語、ドイツ語、中国語のいずれかを２年生から学びます。最近では中国語が人気がありますが、どの言語もとても素晴らしい講師が指導にあたります。
Other students in the FLD are also busy preparing for some of the many speech contests that are being held in neighboring colleges and universities. Each year many of these students do exceeding well and a few even win prizes. Please visit our homepage and find out more about those students in the months to come.
生徒は近隣の大学等で行われるスピーチコンテストにも参加できます。参加する生徒の英語力はぐんと伸びますし、中には賞をとる生徒もいます。今年も参加予定ですので今後もこのホームページをチェックしてください。
In the FLD we help our students become citizens of the world. This requires many skills and one very important skill is the ability to listen, speak, read and write in English. We teach these skills in our classes and encourage you to please come and find out more.
外国語科では「地球市民」になる生徒を育てることを目標としています。そのためには英語を読む、書く、話す、聞くという技術がとても重要になってきます。ぜひ、草加南高校の説明会に足を運んで、本校の魅力を感じ取ってください！
We are very fortunate to have two ALTs at our school. The woman on the left side is from Canada and the woman on the right side is from the U.S. We are fortunate because they too are enthusiastic about English and always willing to help students better their English. They are now helping the students on the presentation teams. Their contest is coming up and we wish them the best. Yet, at the same time, we must remember the importance of the process and for each hour they spend in preparing for the contest, they are improving.

Welcome to Soka Minami High School! My name is Leïla, I’m from Canada. I’m going to be your English and French ALT over the next few years. My hobbies are reading, running and scrapbooking. I’m so excited to meet you all and talk to you, whether it’s in English, Japanese or French. My door is always opened, come by and get a treat!

意欲的な先生方で、現在は２月に行われる麗澤大学プレゼンテーションコンテストに出場する生徒たちを一生懸命指導してくれています。生徒たちは本番のプレゼンテーションで悔いが残らないように、毎日一生懸命内容を精査し、プレゼンテーションスキルを着実に伸ばし続けています。
